Child's gloves

A joined pair of child’s gloves, in light brown knitted cotton; short length (button length 1.5), inseams, three points, deep palm vent, fastens two pearlised buttons, inset thumb, fourchettes. This pair of gloves has two attached labels, one with the number 1, and the second marked 3 1/2. The meaning of the labels is not clear: they may be something to do with the sizing, pricing, or retailing of the gloves.
