Fashion Museum Bath awarded grant by The National Lottery Heritage Fund to create the UK’s leading fashion museum

August 4, 2026

Bath & North East Somerset Council have announced a £7.2million grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to progress plans for the development of the UK’s leading fashion museum, housed in the prominent Grade II listed Old Post Office in the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Bath.

The new museum will showcase more of the Fashion Museum’s renowned Collection than ever before. It will be one of the UK’s most significant cultural projects, playing a pivotal role in the cultural, economic and social future of the region. It will champion the transformative power of fashion, inspire and challenge audiences of all ages, and celebrate the creativity of designers, makers and wearers. It will be a social, and cultural hub providing skills, digital and wellbeing programmes alongside wider economic benefit for the region.

Gloves from our collection will also be on display.
