Provenance

Historical Association notes:

Donor David Bennett wrote to Douglas Sweet: "The gloves were manufactured by William Vaughan and Son Ltd of Torrington, which we acquired in 1988 and subsequently amalgamated with James Tapscott and Sons Ltd to form Vaughan Tapscott Gloves Ltd in 1990. The gloves are from a set (I have three other difference pairs) which were entered by Harold Vincent (the then Managing Director) into a competition to celebrate the Festival of Britain."
