Donor Les Winfield wrote to Douglas Sweet: "Enclosed is the pair of hogskin gloves...They have two attributes historically, they are made from some of the last hopgskins dressed in Britain (actually at Treforest before the flood which triggered their closure) and they have detachable linings such as were extant in the 50s. Whichever collection they end up in they provide a glimpse of the past."
