Provenance

Historical Association notes:

Donor Margaret Willy wrote: " Gloves made by Frances Wilds Hickley (Auntie Frank) 1872 - late 1940s. She was a nurse and worked at the Woburn Cottage Hospital for the Duchess of Bedford, the Flying Duchess. I think she was the Matron. When she retired she and her sister lived at Totland Bay, Isle of Wight. She made gloves and did other leather work, also made lace and knitted. These gloves would have been made before the Second World War [indistinct] I have worn and are shown in book. White made for my father's sister".
