Brian Wicks was the retiring Master Glover of the Worshipful Company of Glovers of London in 2007 and gifted a pair of these gloves to guests at the Banquet at the end of his year of office. Judy Wicks, Brian's widow, wrote about Brian's choice (in 2018): "Unlined navy blue gloves for summer wear were bought from Les Winfield, because Brian knew and liked him. An old-school manufacturer of gloves".
