Womenswear glove

Womenswear cream knitted cotton gloves with embroidered motif “1852”. The cream ground has been both embroidered and beaded almost in the form of a sampler. The initials MB and the date of 1852 forms part of the design using tiny glass beads. There is also a band of gold beading around the lower middle fingers of each hand. The cream ground has been knitted on a Jacquard flat frame machine, probably in the Midlands. Length 24cms.
