Description

A pair of womenswear gold-coloured heavy cotton beaded fingerless mittens. The ivory ground has been knitted on a Jacquard flat frame knitting machine, probably in the Midlands. The beading extends to both front and back of the mittens. They feature golden yellow small glass beads in a vertical design, which would have been applied by hand. At the top of each mitten is a beaded looped finish. They would have been worn for evening attire. Length 32cm.
