Description

Menswear gauntlet glove, single, of stained brown leather with metal thread bobbin lace incorporating spangles. The glove is lined with red silk and the sides are held together by two silk tabs decorated with metal thread bobbin lace.

This glove is the second to a single glove in the Spence Collection, BATMC GLO 23378 (LOAN). The glove was donated to the Glove Collection Trust by the Museum of Leathercraft in May 2015. The inventory number at the Museum of Leathercraft was 970-61. A note on the outside of the box in which the gloves came from the Museum of Leathercraft noted that the glove was in the Spence Collection and was acquired by the Museum of Leathercraft in 1961.
